5 Things That Make No Sense in The Naruto Franchise

A few months ago, I switched to another ISP; Spectrum Internet. Well, guess what did I do to test its reliability? I rewatched Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in two months! Yes, two months of seamless streaming without any signs of buffering were enough to rewatch the Naruto franchise – including the fillers!

But here’s the twist: Although I did find out that my new internet connection was extremely reliable, I also pointed out some major factors in the Naruto franchise that now make no sense to me. Maybe I’m too critical of Kishimoto’s work or cannot accept the fact that even the greatest movie creators sometimes make mistakes.

5 Things That Make No Sense in The Naruto Franchise

Anyway, I’ll be sharing those observations with you in this article. Let me know in the comments section if it’s only me who is paranoid or if the following things don’t make sense to you as well. Let’s start:

Undue Behavior Towards Naruto

Well, I believe I don’t have to tell you how villagers treated Naruto. Well, he was despised and hated by all, except a few, for instance, Iruka sensei. But, don’t you think all the hatred Naruto got was highly unjustified?

He was the son of the Hokage; Minato, who gave up his life to stop the nine-tailed beast; Kurama. And it wasn’t Naruto’s choice to seal the nine-tailed beast inside him that killed the villagers. So, why hate a child who literally had no part in the village’s destruction?

Plus, did the 3rd Hokage live up to the promise he made to Minato and Kushina? Did he look after Naruto? Well, I think not! If he had kept his promise, Naruto wouldn’t have lived on a bowl of ramen and expired bread for most of his childhood. Or, the 3rd Hokage could easily manage the best education or a better stipend for Naruto, which he did not. Read another trending article, Evolution of E-Bikes.

Kakashi; The “Copy Ninja” with a Limited Jutsus

This mistake is hard to observe because most fans are obsessed with Kakashi’s cool and collected behavior. And fans know why Kakashi was known as “The Copy Ninja” in Naruto Franchise. With his Sharingan, he was known to copy “1000” different Jutsus. But, how many of them have you witnessed Kakashi using? 500? 100? 50? Or maybe even less than 10 Jutsus in the entire series.

So, does it make any sense that a copy ninja who’s known to possess 1000 Jutsus has only a couple of tricks up his sleeves? Well, Kishimoto messed up big time here. And I believe only if Kakashi were to use around 40-50 different Jutsus throughout the series, I would’ve made fans believe that he is indeed a copy ninja.

Madara was Better Villain Than Kaguya

Yes, Kaguya Otsutsuki was the first person to wield Chakra, and for that reason, her role as a powerful princess was justified. But, how did she become the antagonist in Naruto when it was Madara who stole the villain’s light from the very beginning?

It makes no sense because the creators portrayed Madara as the notorious and most feared person among all the Hidden Villages throughout the series. On the other hand, there was barely any mention of Otsutsuki or Kaguya till the final moments of the 4th Great Ninja War.

Also, I believe most fans did not like how Madara was portrayed as a mere pawn used by Kaguya to reach her objectives. And I also believe that it was the final bout between Naruto and Sasuke that saved the day for the Naruto franchise. Because otherwise, as an ardent Naruto fan, Naruto’s ending with Kaguya’s downfall would be extremely hard to defend among friends. Lord 3rd Hokage and Orochimaru’s Relationship

Well, fans know the original Team 7 had Hiruzen (3rd Hokage) leading Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Master Jiraya. There’s no doubt that Hiruzen’s work with these three earned them the title of “The Three Legendary Sannin”. But, don’t you think Lord 3rd had special affectation towards Orochimaru? Well, let’s analyze:

Before Orochimaru was even considered a threat to the Hidden Leaf Village, Lord 3rd knew Orochimaru did not have peaceful plans for the village. Yet, he did nothing to stop him. Then, a few years later when it became evident that Orochimaru was leading the inhumane experiments on villagers, Lord 3rd did nothing. The final nail in the coffin was when the Lord 3rd caught Orochimaru in his lab, performing those experiments. And even then, it did not make any sense why and how could the Hokage give a free pass to one of the most wanted fugitives of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Also, who knows if Lord 3rd had handled Orochimaru that day, then he wouldn’t been killed mercilessly by his beloved student.

Naruto Shippuden is All About Naruto and Sasuke

In Naruto, we get a glimpse of major side characters. Be it Lee, Neji, Shikamaru, Gara, and more, all these characters had a promising start. While some of these characters’ arcs were explained well in Naruto, most fans expected to see more in Naruto Shippuden.

But, as soon as Shippuden starts, we rarely get to see other character’s arcs except Naruto and Sasuke. It feels like all the hard work and life that side characters have put in Naruto to make up the story have vanished. Except for a few occasions where the side characters kick in to play a constructive role to level up the story. Also, with no reason to be sidelined, it does not make sense why the creators had lost trust in them. Wrapping Up: The Filler Episodes

Do you know around 40% of episodes in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden are fillers? Well, the Naruto franchise has 720 episodes, so 40% of it would be more than 250 episodes! Come on, even if the producers wanted to prolong Naruto, don’t you think 100 or even 150 fillers would be sufficient?

Not just the number of fillers, but I think their timing does not make any sense. For instance, what’s so wise about putting a Hokage series fillers right before the Pain’s arc? Well, that just does not sit well because Pain’s arc was one of the most vital events for Naruto’s character and fillers left a bad taste, for sure.
